During a visit to NY this past Monday, my mom and I drove through Willets Point to get some estimates for auto-body work. Willets Point is a massive collection of junk yards, auto-body shops and mechanics that’s in the backyard of the new Citi Field where the Mets play. This New York Times article talks about the history of Willets Point and all the controversy around it with the city wanting to take over the area to build condos, shops, hotels, etc. Willets Point is absolutely fascinating. It is a world of its own. I only had about 5 minutes to jump out of the car and take a few pictures, but I could have easily spent the day there documenting all that was going on. – October 8, 2012
Looks like a Trini scene.
